Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Smart Alarm?
When you wake during a period of light sleep you’re more likely to feel refreshed than if you’re awakened from deep sleep. The Smart Alarm seeks to wake you during a light stage of sleep. You simply choose a time window from 15 to 30 minutes during which you’d like to get up, and the Smart Alarm will gently wake you. If you do not enter light sleep during this time window, the alarm will instead sound at the end.
Will the Smart Alarm work if my smartphone or tablet is on silent or do not disturb?
No, if you wish to use the Smart Alarm feature make sure the ‘do not disturb’ function is disabled and that you have not turned the smartphone or tablet to silent.

How does Relax to Sleep work?
The Relax to Sleep feature provides soothing sounds synchronised to your own breathing, to help you fall asleep. While lying still, you can reduce the pace of the sound by slowing your breathing. The relaxing sound will synchronise to your breathing within approximately two minutes of lying still. Then you follow the sound as it slows down, slowing your breathing and leading you into a more relaxed state, helping you to fall asleep more easily. The sound will automatically fade and shut off.
What’s the difference between Relax to Sleep and Relax Daytime?
Relax Daytime is a feature that plays a calming sound prompting you to reduce your breathing rate. Its purpose is not to help you fall asleep, but instead to help you relax. To use Relax Daytime, you must match your breathing to the soothing sound. For Relax to Sleep, the pace of the soothing sound adapts to match your breathing and then gradually slows, helping you to fall asleep.
How long will the sound play for if I use Relax to Sleep?
The maximum duration is 60 minutes.
Do I have to lie still for Relax to Sleep to work?
Yes, initially you need to lie still for approximately two minutes once you start Relax to Sleep. This enables the system to accurately set the rate of the soothing sounds suited to you. You must also breathe at a constant rate.
Will Relax to Sleep or Relax Daytime features work if my phone is on silent?
Yes, they will work as normal.
How do I adjust the sound volume when listening to the relaxing sounds?
Use your smartphone settings or phone volume control to adjust the volume of S+ relaxing sounds.
