Why do we snore?
ResMed explains what causes people to snore and what happens if you stop breathing in your sleep. Snoring can be caused by temporary factors including sedative use, alcohol, seasonal allergies, swollen tonsils and even your sleeping position. Snoring can also be caused by excess weight, particularly around the neck and the shape of your nose and jaw. Snoring can also indicate a much more serious condition, obstructive sleep apnea or OSA which can have serious health implications.
What is OSA?
ResMed explains what Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is and how there are many signs and symptoms including depression, headaches, forgetfulness, poor concentration, lack of energy, tiredness and mood swings, to name a few. Left untreated, it can pose serious risks to your health. In this video we give you some suggestions on how to look out for it and what to do if you think you are suffering from OSA.
